About this work

Two men, one in a yellow jacket, the other in a red shirt, carry a heavy, bristling wild boar strung by its legs from a pole balanced on their shoulders. Bare branches suggest a winter forest between them, and the word 'ДОБЫЧА' (quarry) is inscribed in large pale letters across the background. Both men's faces are tense and fixed forward as they bear the kill's weight.

The boar's dense fur is built from dark, calligraphic strokes that dominate the composition, while the men's clothing is flat, saturated yellow and red against a mottled, ashen ground. Skin tones are pushed toward an unnatural blue-grey, heightening the tension. The handling is expressive and graphic, giving the hunting trophy a heavy, dramatic weight.
