About this work
A large dark silhouetted figure crouches low on a flat green ground, head bowed onto folded arms. Around it, torn paper fragments and painted panels are collaged across the sheet: pencil scribbles at top, a pink watercolor square with a small tree image, black wave-like brushstrokes, a photograph of a chair, and printed text reading 'COME WEL HOME' and a Cyrillic word for 'welcome,' plus a small potted sapling near the figure's feet.
The palette moves from a soft grey-and-pastel upper zone of loose sketching to a flat, saturated green field, with the black figure rendered in glossy strokes. Collage, drawing, and text layer together without a single vantage point, producing a fragmented, dreamlike arrangement of half-legible signs around a solitary figure.
