About this work
A walled hill town perched on tan cliffs stretches across the middle distance, its skyline marked by a church tower and spire. A golden-leaved tree and dark cypresses frame the left side, rows of a vineyard with yellow-orange leaves fill the lower right, and open green pasture occupies the foreground, with pale hills receding under a soft sky.
