About this work
A dark band of distant trees sits along the top edge, above a wide field of pale, silvery grass rendered in fine vertical strokes. A denser mass of golden-brown stalks and dark seed heads gathers just below center, while small blue and lavender flecks scatter through the lower foreground among more slender grass.
The palette is built from cream, straw and grey-brown, warmed by ochre in the central mass and cooled by scattered blue notes below. Soft, hazy blending combines with crisp dry-brush lines for the grass blades, creating a still, misty meadow bathed in diffuse light.
