About this work
A large domed building, lit from below, stands at the center of a riverside skyline against a deep blue night sky. Rows of illuminated windows and lights line the embankment on either side, and a small boat with a couple of figures floats on the dark water in the foreground.
Thick, vivid strokes of turquoise, yellow, pink and violet render the reflections breaking up on the water's surface, contrasting with the deep indigo of the sky and river.
