About this work
A nocturnal garden view is built almost entirely from near-black silhouettes: dense bushes and dark rounded shapes, possibly rooftops or walls, fill the lower half of the panel. A small crescent moon glows pale white in the upper sky, its light barely touching the scene, while a cluster of warm orange marks - lanterns or lit windows - glimmers low among the foliage.
The palette is dominated by near-black blues, greens, and browns, applied in thick, dragged strokes that leave the surface rough and textured. Only the moon and the small orange lights break the darkness, their glow anchoring the composition and creating a hushed, mysterious nocturnal mood.
