About this work

Behind her, pink, coral, yellow and deep burgundy cloths are heaped in loose, broad folds, their saturated color set against the muted gray of the seat. Light falls softly across her face and torso, rendered in smooth, even brushwork, giving the reclining figure a relaxed, dreamlike stillness.
