About this work
Four separate studies fill the sheet: a back view of a leg with muscles fully modeled, a skeleton of the same limb, a front-view muscular leg, and a bent knee combining bone and muscle, each raised on a small plinth like a studio cast. A loose hand sketch appears in the upper right corner, with a small stamped mark beside the bent-leg study.
Rendered in graphite and white chalk on ochre-toned paper, the forms are built through careful cross-hatching and soft blending that describe volume and structure with restraint. The palette stays within a narrow sepia range, and the sheet reads as a disciplined academic exercise in anatomical observation.
