About this work
The composition is cropped from the head to the hips of a young man, arms raised with hands clasped behind his head. A crown of pink, white and yellow flowers rests on his hair, and a loose garland of ivy leaves and pale blossoms is tied low across his hips over an otherwise plain grey ground, with the word FAUN and initials inscribed at the lower corners.
