About this work
The upper half shows an interior: a red wireframe bird, a larger black wire-outline bird on thin legs, a pink abstract shape, and a paper-collage profile of newsprint on a rounded form, before a wood screen and tiled corner. Below, teal water is rendered as a repeating chevron pattern in red and blue. A tall green plant with a purple stem rises through the dividing line, with two small lamp shapes near the waterline.
Acrylic on paper is applied in flat, graphic passes - wire-like contours for the birds, newsprint collage for the face, zigzag bands for the water - producing a schematic surface. The cool teal, black and red palette with sparse warm accents creates a diagrammatic, dreamlike mood.
