About this work
A wide path thickly carpeted with fallen leaves curves away between two rows of tall, dark-trunked trees. Their canopies form an arch of yellow, orange, and green overhead, with a bright clearing glimpsed in the distance where the path bends. Low shrubs and grass border the trail on either side.
Countless small, distinct dabs of yellow, ochre, and rust build up the foliage and the leaf-covered ground, giving every surface a granular, textured richness. Dark, almost black trunks and branches provide a strong linear structure against the warm color. Filtered light falling through the canopy creates a calm, enclosed woodland atmosphere.
