About this work
A cathedral's gilded dome and pale colonnaded facade dominate the far bank of a canal, seen past a stone embankment wall and a row of leafy green trees. On the near side, a sidewalk with parked cars and a couple of small pedestrian figures runs alongside a paved street.
Sunlit blues and soft whites fill the sky, while warm gold on the dome and dappled greens in the foliage carry the strongest color notes. Broad, confident strokes and visible canvas texture give the view an airy, sunlit plein-air freshness.
