About this work
Two camels led by a robed figure move across a vast, sun-bleached desert floor strewn with pale rocks and boulders. A low rocky outcrop stands at left and a rounded sandy hill rises at the center-right horizon, while a faint track curves through the foreground toward the viewer under an open sky.
Soft pinks, ochres, and pale blues blend across sand and sky in loose, dry brushwork, with the small caravan set far back to emphasize the emptiness of the terrain. Light is even and diffuse, without strong shadow, giving the whole scene a hushed, sun-faded calm typical of open wilderness.
