Crescendo

A woman in black dances with her back arched, chin lifted, and arms flung wide in a moment of flamenco abandon. To her left another woman claps and cries out with a clenched fist, while a guitarist crouches at right beside a stone wall and bare tree; a whitewashed house with wrought-iron balconies rises behind them, small onlookers gathered on distant steps.

Bright daylight bleaches the walls to near white, throwing the dancer's dark clothing and the singer's flushed face into sharp contrast. Loose, confident brushwork captures both movement and sun-glare, while warm skin tones against cool stone hues charge the scene with rhythmic, sun-struck energy.
