Christ crucified

A bearded man's nude body is mounted directly on a rough, whitewashed brick wall, arms flung wide and feet crossed at the ankles in the pose of a crucifixion, though no cross is shown. His head tilts back with mouth open, and hands are splayed as if straining against unseen restraints, the ribs and sinews of the torso sharply modeled.

The painted bronze surface mixes sallow yellow-green flesh tones with dark shadow and streaks of red that read as blood or bruising, its rough cast texture left visible. Set starkly against the plain brick, the raw coloring and open-mouthed expression give the figure an intense, anguished presence.
