About this work
A low band of dark, irregular shapes stretches across the middle distance, reading as a cluster of small boats or huts silhouetted against a soft gray-blue sky. Beneath it a wide, pale foreground of sand or water fills most of the canvas, broken by a single bright gap suggesting light reflected on water. No other detail interrupts the hazy, empty scene.
A narrow range of warm beige, dove gray, and muted teal is thinned to near transparency at the edges. Broad, soft-edged strokes blend sky into shore with almost no hard line, unifying the surface in fog. The result feels quiet and contemplative, closer to a remembered impression than a described place.
