About this work
A nude figure folds into a tight backward curl, knees bent and both feet lifted into the air while the hands reach up to grasp one foot. The head tips back, eyes closed, curly hair spilling loosely across the paper, the pose compact and self-contained within the frame.
Loose ink line defines the body's contour while soft washes of ochre, pink and grey-green bloom around it like diffuse colored shadow. Spatter marks and drips scatter to the left, adding a spontaneous texture. The mix of controlled outline and loose wash gives the figure a relaxed, playful buoyancy.
