About this work
A dark-haired woman stands at center in a heavily patterned, bejeweled robe, cradling a white dove against her chest and holding a lily before her. On either side stand two winged, rose-crowned attendants in ornate gold and crimson garments, one offering a pomegranate, the other reaching toward the flowers, small birds and dense pink roses filling the space around them.
Every surface carries dense, flat ornament — floral brocade, jeweled medallions, and feathered wings rendered in saturated reds, golds, and blues. The stylized, symmetrical composition and jewel-like detail recall decorative icon painting, and the glowing color and stillness of the figures create a hushed, otherworldly reverence.
