About this work
A woman's head and shoulders emerge from a heavy white drape pulled up over her hair like a hood, its folds cascading down to cover most of her body. Her eyes are closed and her lips slightly parted, one hand raised beneath the fabric to rest against her chest, the pose still and inward, set against a plain dark ground.
