About this work
The canvas is divided into a row of vertical rectangular fields suggesting flat house walls or facades, capped by a pale grey and sky-blue band standing in for open sky. Each block holds a single muted color or a soft internal gradient, with no windows, figures or other legible detail beyond the shapes themselves.
Built up on a thick ivory ground with acrylic, the surface is pitted, cracked and unevenly textured, giving the flat color fields a worn, weathered quality. The cool blues and greys are set against warmer blush and plum tones, and the restrained, blocky palette produces a quiet, meditative abstraction rather than a descriptive view.
