About this work
A cluster of large pink flowers with ruffled, translucent petals dominates the frame, framed by broad dark green leaves. A slender curved bud droops on a thin red stem below, while a second flower opens at the lower edge, backed by a faint trellis with tiny red blossoms.
Petals are built from layered pink, white and mauve strokes catching soft light from the upper left, giving them a translucent, veined surface. Leaves are flat blue-green and olive, pushing the blossoms forward. The cropped framing and trellis pattern give the picture a calm, decorative stillness.
