About this work
The heavy iron framework of a bridge arches over a set of tracks, its supports and girders silhouetted against a deep violet night sky. A small tram or railcar with a red front approaches through the opening, its tracks cutting through snow that covers the ground.
Dense, smeared strokes of purple, charcoal and white build a nocturnal atmosphere, with faint white highlights marking snow and a hazy pink glow on the horizon. The heavy, textured surface and near-monochrome palette give the scene a hushed, mysterious tension.
