About this work
A loose bouquet of flowers fills the canvas, with dense clusters of magenta-pink blooms on the left and pale, cream-white blossoms massing across the center and right. Below the flower heads, dark olive-green stems and leaves are visible through a glass vase, with a hint of a red accent near the base suggesting additional stems resting on the table.
Applied with a palette knife in thick, ridged strokes, the paint builds up heavy impasto passages of white and pink that dissolve into soft, blurred edges rather than distinct petals. Warm beige and pink tones in the background suggest a sunlit interior, while cooler greens and blues thread through the lower portion. The heavy texture and high-key palette give the still life an energetic, sun-warmed, almost abstracted freshness.
