About this work
A group of soft toys is arranged on a dark cloth: a plush white rabbit in green overalls at left, a white goose with an orange beak at center, and a red-haired boy doll in a green vest at right. Behind them two more dolls - one purple-haired, one in a spotted dress - and a small cupcake toy fill the upper tier, all set against a blue ground patterned with small gold checks.
Flat blue and teal tones dominate, with the dolls' simplified round faces reduced to dot eyes and faint mouths in a naive, toy-like manner. The muted, cool palette and even, patterned background give the grouping a calm, gently whimsical mood, like a shelf of well-loved playthings.
