About this work
A dense bouquet of flowers, ranging from wine-red and magenta blooms to pale pink and white ones, fills a glass vase set on a light surface. The blossoms and leaves are suggested rather than defined, clustering toward the center of the canvas with a few stems and buds breaking free at the edges.
Color is applied in broad, loaded strokes and dabs, with deep crimson and magenta anchoring the middle of the bouquet against soft grayish-green surroundings.
