Pomegranates

Two pomegranates are split fully open at center, their leathery rinds peeled back to reveal dense clusters of ruby-red seeds, while a third whole fruit and a partial half sit alongside. Loose seeds are scattered across the dark wood surface in front of the fruit.

Deep garnet and crimson seeds glow against the muted olive-brown background and near-black table, lit by a single soft source from above. The rinds' dry, papery texture is rendered in fine detail alongside the glistening, translucent seeds. Rich in color and closely observed, the still life has an intense, jewel-like presence.
