About this work
A many-arched stone bridge spans a greenish river in the foreground, with a small red-and-white boat passing beneath one arch and cars crossing above. Behind it rises a dense row of tall Parisian buildings with turrets, dormers, and a slender spire, set against a heavily clouded, pale sky.
The palette stays muted — grays, chalky whites, and olive greens — applied in thick, dabbed strokes that give the stone and foliage a rough, tactile surface. Diffused light flattens contrasts, and the loose, textured brushwork produces a quiet, overcast atmosphere typical of a damp Paris day.
