About this work
Rectangular and trapezoidal fields of blue in varying shades interlock across the upper two-thirds of the canvas, broken by a bright white square, pale lilac panels and a small reddish-brown cluster. A horizontal band of warm orange crosses the lower edge, the only warm note in an otherwise cool composition.
The acrylic surface is worked in flat, hard-edged planes with occasional patches of rough, pitted texture, especially in the darker inset areas. Cool blues and violets predominate, lending the abstract arrangement a calm, restrained atmosphere.
