About this work
A nude woman stands ankle-deep at the shoreline, her body turned away while she glances back over her shoulder with a direct gaze. Behind her, waves roll in and break in white foam across a wide beach, and a single luminous cloud rises high in the pale sky above the horizon line of the sea.
The palette shifts from the warm gold of the cloud and the figure's skin to the cooler greys and blues of sea and sand, light implied from behind the cloud.
