About this work
Three windowless walls enclose a narrow urban courtyard: a sunlit ochre facade on the left, a shadowed dark wall filling the center, and a rust-red wall on the right. A band of blue pavement crosses the foreground, broken only by a small teal box in the corner, under a sky fading from green to peach.
The palette is built from blocks of ochre, rust, dark green and cool blue, applied in broad, textured strokes that leave the canvas weave visible. Light falls flatly across the walls, flattening the architecture into abstracted planes. The mood is quiet and enclosed, a still, wordless standoff between surfaces that feels tense and boxed in.
