About this work
A row of dark, round seed heads rises on thin bare stalks across the lower third of the canvas, standing out clearly against a field of pale golden grass. Above, a band of deep green, rust and violet suggests distant trees or shrubs in shadow, their forms loosely blurred compared to the crisply drawn seed heads below.
