About this work
A dark tree line runs along the top of the canvas above a broad expanse of pale, hazy grass drawn in fine vertical strokes. A cluster of reddish-brown seed heads and stalks gathers at the center, while a denser band of rust and umber grass fills the lower right corner, its texture thicker and more saturated than the surrounding haze.
Cream and pale grey dominate the upper field, shifting to warm rust, ochre and brown toward the base. Dry-brush strokes and soft dragged textures alternate with hazy, blended passages, giving the meadow a quiet, softly lit stillness close in mood to a companion view of the same field.
