About this work
A lone figure, reduced to a dark silhouette, stands at the lower edge of the canvas and lifts one arm toward a small luminous white form hovering above, as if reaching for or worshipping it. The figure emerges from a pale, cloud-like mass of blue-white paint that dissolves into a vast mottled expanse of teal and deep blue occupying most of the composition.
The surface is built from sponged and sprayed pigment, its speckled, granular texture contrasting with softer blended passages around the figure. Cool blues and greens dominate, broken only by the warm white glow the figure reaches toward, producing a hushed, mysterious atmosphere of isolation and quiet reverence.
