Three monumental figures share a shallow stage: at left a man in a dark suit tips back a wine glass, an umbrella at his feet; center, a woman in a red dress raises a line of jugs overhead with both hands; at right a man in a blue vest drains a bottle.

Rounded volumes are shaded with soft cross-hatching over flat planes of grey, ochre and red. The warm, restrained palette and poster-like clarity give the scene a decorative, theatrical energy, its exaggerated gestures turning a simple drinking bout into a stylized performance.
