About this work
A nude woman lies back diagonally across the sheet, propped on one straightened arm with her head turned in profile and her hair loosely gathered. One leg is bent and drawn up while the other stretches long toward the lower edge, the whole pose captured against a plain, unmarked background.
The figure is built from fine, continuous graphite contour lines with only sparing color pencil accents of ochre and orange marking the lit planes of the torso and thigh. The economy of line and restrained palette give the study a calm, academic clarity.
