About this work
Four figures crowd a lit triple window at night — a mustached man in a fur collar, two older women in bright headscarves singing with mouths wide open, and a younger woman beside them. Below the sill sits a spread of festive food: a jar of preserves, a bowl of dumplings, sliced bread, a frosted cake, stacked plates and cutlery in a jar.
