About this work
The composition splits roughly at mid-height by a dark horizontal band. Above it, a warm brown ground carries a pale cross-hatched rectangle upper right and a fine ruled diagonal line. Below the band a lighter, textured shape emerges from darkness like a lit structure, flanked by scratched diagonal marks and a thin hanging shape on the left, with a small signature lower right.
Worked in silverpoint and mixed media on toned paper, the surface is built from smudged sepia washes, incised lines and scraped highlights that catch light like metal. The palette stays within browns and golds, warmest at the lit shape below the band, giving a tactile, half-lit atmosphere with no legible room or figure.
