About this work
A single pillow rests folded at the left while the rest of the bed's sheet twists diagonally across the frame in a long, rope-like fold. Faint pleated ticking runs along the top edge of the mattress, and the fabric brightens toward the right where it catches more light. The bed appears otherwise empty, its linens undisturbed by any sleeper.
The palette stays within soft grays and near-whites, with a gentle light source raking from the upper right to pick out every crease and shadowed hollow. Brushwork is smooth and controlled, blending tone into tone to render cloth almost sculpturally. The overall effect is quiet and contemplative, a still record of a body that has just left.
