Himalayas

Jagged snow-covered summits rise against a clear blue sky, their slopes shading from white through violet-blue to deep purple shadow on a steep rock face at left. Paint is applied in broad, energetic strokes with a loaded brush, the mountain faces built from flat planes of blue and violet while the trees and grass are dashed in with quicker, choppy touches of green and yellow-green. The high-key contrast between the cool massif and the warm, sunlit foreground gives the view a clear, breezy, open-air feeling.
