Equilibrium

A rhythmic row of tall vertical columns, each rendered in a different material — marble, malachite green, pale pink, dark wood, warm tan — stands side by side beneath ornately patterned, jewel-toned capitals. The columns rise from a set of pale turquoise steps that end in a shallow pool of water, with bright light spilling through a gap between two pale columns near the center.

Flat, decorative color fields render the stone and wood grain of each column with subtle mottling and veining, while the mosaic capitals add small-scale ornamental pattern against the muted greens and browns below.
