About this work
Large boulders fill the lower half of the canvas, their surfaces broken into facets of red, orange, purple, and green as if lit from many angles at once. Beyond them, shallow water churns in restless white curls flecked with gold, pink, and turquoise where sunlight catches the moving surface. No horizon or figure appears—only rock and water fill the frame.
Color is applied in dense, rhythmic strokes that favor a jewel-like palette of blues, oranges, and violets over natural rock tones, giving the stones a mosaic-like intensity. The water is built from countless curling white lines over deep blue, forming a decorative, almost hypnotic pattern of movement rather than literal description of a coastline.
