About this work

A wizened bearded face, one eye wide and staring, is fused with the sinewy, taloned body of a chimerical beast crouching on a stone ledge; wild strands of hair and tendrils curl outward like tentacles around the head, and clawed feet grip the rock below.

Mottled patches of turquoise, violet, ochre, and moss green model the creature's skin in thick, textured strokes against a flat grey ground, while fine linear brushwork traces the hair and claws; the effect is unsettling and otherworldly.
