About this work
A ramshackle wooden bathhouse with a patched, rusting roof sits crowded by bare trees and scattered debris — planks, buckets, and a coiled hose litter the foreground yard. A second, smaller structure appears at the left, partly hidden by slender trunks, while a strip of pale sky shows through the bare branches above.
The palette is dominated by weathered browns, ochres and grayed greens, with touches of rust-orange on the roof and scattered dry leaves. Thick, energetic brushstrokes capture the rough textures of old timber and tangled grass, and the overall handling gives the scene a worn, neglected, faintly melancholic character.
