About this work
A dense group of trees in full autumn foliage rises at the water's edge, their branches spreading low over a calm pond. One large tree in rust-orange dominates the left, while a blue-green conifer and yellow-leaved trees fill out the grove to the right. A small dark waterbird floats on the water in the foreground.
Thick, textured strokes of orange, gold, and ochre build the canopy, with touches of red and green marking denser undergrowth beneath the trees.
