About this work
Overlapping ranges of rounded, grass-covered mountains recede toward a pale horizon, their slopes striped with green, gold, and rose-toned hues. A wide valley opens in the foreground, crossed by dirt tracks and dotted with small horses and grazing livestock, under a sky filled with soft white clouds.
Opaque gouache is laid in flat, confident patches to build the layered ridges, from cool green-blue in the distance to warm ochre and green in the near slopes.
