About this work
A large white parabolic radio telescope, its lattice dish tilted skyward, rises from a rounded hill, with a second smaller dish antenna standing lower down to its right. Support towers and a ladder are visible at the base of the main structure.
The entire surface, sky, hill and telescopes alike, is built from dense, short dabs of blue, red, pink and white, so that the astronomical instruments emerge from a vibrating field of broken color rather than a naturalistic setting. The effect is glowing and slightly otherworldly, turning a technical subject into a shimmering, mysterious vision.
