About this work

A sunlit corner of a room is crossed by the long shadow of a window frame, its grid pattern stretching diagonally across a pale ochre wall. In the lower right a small dark silhouette, shaped like a perched bird, sits on a stone ledge, while in the shadowed foreground a round ceramic plate with a blue-and-red floral pattern rests beside a weathered teal box.

The palette is built from warm cream and ochre wall tones set against deep brown-grey shadow, painted with loose, textured strokes that leave visible ridges of paint. The strong diagonal light creates a bold graphic contrast between glare and shade, giving the quiet interior a watchful, still atmosphere.
