About this work
Seen through an open window framed by curtains printed with small birds and flowers, a boy's face and one hand appear at the sill, fingers reaching toward green apples arranged on the ledge. Behind him inside the room stands a tall vase of white daisies, and further back another child figure is faintly visible near a lit lampshade, with birds and dark foliage glimpsed through a second doorway.
The whole scene is washed in a soft, uniform pink-violet tonality that unifies curtain, glass and interior, breaking only for the crisp white of the daisy petals and the boy's more naturally lit face.
