About this work

Three haloed, winged angels sit around a low table draped in white linen and set with bread, beneath the spreading branches of an oak. At left, an elderly bearded man in a turban and red robe approaches carrying more bread; at right, an older woman in green stands near a tent and a stone column, watching the gathering.

The palette moves from earthy browns and rose reds to soft blues and greens, warmed by a golden light filtering through the tree canopy. Brushwork is smooth and detailed, following an icon-like symmetry adapted into naturalistic oil painting, producing a calm, reverent atmosphere of quiet biblical hospitality.
