Suzdal

A whitewashed church with two blue-domed towers dominates the foreground, its walls pierced by narrow arched windows and a dark doorway. To the left stands a slender tented bell tower banded in red and white, with a blue gateway arch beneath it opening onto a courtyard. Bare-branched trees rise behind the buildings against a pale sky, and a strip of green grass runs along the bottom edge.

Chalky blue-greens and warm terracotta accents are laid in loose, visible pastel strokes over a cool grey ground, giving the stonework a soft, weathered glow. Light falls evenly across the facades without deep shadow, and the loosely rendered foliage and sky heighten the sense of a tranquil provincial townscape caught in overcast daylight.
